Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible for your data

TestMyPsyche is run by Ishtiaq, based in North Macedonia, who is the "controller" of your personal data. Contact: hello@testmypsyche.com.

We follow the Law on Personal Data Protection of North Macedonia and, for visitors in the European Union and the United Kingdom, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. If you take tests without an account

• Your answers are scored in your browser. Your progress, your results and your recent results list are stored only on your own device (in your browser's local storage). You can clear them any time by clearing your browser data.
• When you finish a test, we add one to that test's anonymous completion counter. No personal data is stored with it.
• If you rate a test, we store your star rating with a random ID created in your browser, so you can change your rating instead of voting twice. It doesn't identify you.
• Result links contain your scores (for example, …/result/openness_72-55-40-81-33) so they can be shared. Anyone you send a link to can see that result, but it doesn't contain your name or other details.

3. If you create an account

• Your email address, used to log you in with a one-time link. If you log in with Google, we also receive your name and email address from Google.
• The results you choose to save, with the date you took each test, so you can see them on your dashboard and track changes over time.
• Your optional public nickname and your trivia scores, which appear on leaderboards. Leaderboards never show your email address.
• Your test ratings, linked to your account so each person has one vote per test.

Some tests touch on personal topics such as relationships or stress. Saved results are only shown to you and are never used for advertising or sold.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

• Essential (always on): a login cookie if you have an account, and a record of your cookie choices. The site can't work properly without these.
• Analytics (only with your consent): Google Analytics helps us understand which tests are popular and how the site is used. We have asked Google not to use this data for its own advertising.
• Advertising (only with your consent): Google AdSense may use cookies to show and measure ads. Without your consent, only non-personalized ads may be shown, where available.

You can change your choices at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.

5. Why we use your data (legal bases)

• To provide your account and saved results — because you asked us to (performance of a contract).
• To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and cheating on leaderboards, and count completions anonymously — our legitimate interests in running a safe, reliable service.
• Analytics and personalized advertising — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

6. Who we share data with

• Vercel — hosts the website. Like all web servers, it briefly processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against attacks.
• Supabase — stores our database and handles log-ins. Your account data is stored in the European Union (Ireland).
• Our email provider — sends login emails.
• Google — Analytics and AdSense, only if you consent.

We never sell your personal data. We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, under data processing agreements:

7. International transfers

Some providers (such as Vercel and Google) may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on recognized safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

8. How long we keep data

• Account data, saved results, nickname and scores: until you delete them or your account.
• Data stored in your browser: until you clear it.
• Anonymous counters and ratings: for as long as the test is online (ratings linked to an account are deleted with the account).
• Technical logs kept by our hosting provider: for a short period, normally no more than 30 days.

9. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, receive a copy, object to or restrict certain uses, and withdraw consent at any time. You can delete your saved results or your entire account yourself from your account page. For anything else, email hello@testmypsyche.com.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority — in North Macedonia, the Agency for Personal Data Protection (Агенција за заштита на личните податоци), or the authority in the EU or UK country where you live.

10. Children

TestMyPsyche is intended for people aged 16 and over. If you're younger, please use the site with a parent or guardian's permission and don't create an account. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.

11. Security

We protect your data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), strict database access rules so people can only ever see their own saved results, and by keeping secret keys on our servers only. No system is perfectly secure, but we take protecting your data seriously.

12. Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let account holders know.
